Yes. From what I remember of our conversation, once he got to the Philippines, he got their pictures taken and had to go back again I think a month or so later for the ACR cards.

He did say that then at one year I think, they would have to go back to Manila.

I should see them in a few weeks once we get back on the island.

See you in a few weeks I hope.

Thanks for that information John.

I presume that would still be a one year probationary visa and ACR I-Card, right?

Good information again Dale.

I met a retiree on our last trip who gave me the insight about the 13(a) visa's and the ACR Card. He told me that for those of us that are in the process of moving to the Philippines to retire, it is best and easier to do this at a Philippine consulate in your area. It requires a few days do get the paper work all done as long as you down load all the required forms from the Philippine Embassy site. The over all costs are cheaper and once you are done, all you have to do is once you arrive in Manila, you will need to go in and turn your paper work in and get your picture taken for your ACR card.

He was also from Washington state and went down to the San Francisco consulate and was done in two days.
