Perhaps the most important advice I can give, on this topic, is to stay away from the small, local, BOI offices, where they can’t issue reciepts. They will probably charge you extra money, for their travels to a larger office, and maybe even keep your passport until they return, so the passport can be stamped. It is much better if you go to the larger/regional office yourself.

ACR I-Card now required March 11, 2010
ACR I-Cards are now required for tourist visa’s if extended beyond 59 days! That, according to Bureau of Immigration ”MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. MCL-09-027” dated 29 December 2009.
